Researcher. Artist. Educator.

Sarahi is a collage and assemblage artist interested in meditation through process and materiality. Their past experiences as an educator in museum spaces and a creative director for a BIPOC arts publication have shaped how they value art making as community building and believe the role of an artist within a community should be taken beyond the studio or museum walls. Education and accessibility to art are a priority as they explore how materials and objects become a language for people to express and connect with themselves and others.

Sarahi, in both their research and studio practice, investigates how objects carry memory. Most of the materials they work with come from second hand stores or chance encounters around the city. With the uttermost respect for these' objects past lives, Sarahi weaves mundane materials into eclectic abstractions and bricolages.
